WHAT TYPE OF PRISM DOES IT USE? The Vortex Razor UHDs utilize the Abbe-Koenig prism style. WHY ARE THE RAZOR UHDS HEAVIER THAN THE RAZOR HDS? The Vortex Razor UHDs are heavier mainly because of the optical system. These are much improved over the Razor HDs and have a larger prism system called an Abbe-Koenig design. This system has a longer optical path length which gives a sharper and higher resolution image. Lastly, to fit the larger prisms the overall body is larger.
